What is HACCP...

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a systematic approach to food safety that focuses on prevention rather than relying on end-product inspection. It's a proactive measure designed to reduce the risks associated with food safety hazards. Vacuum sealing is one of the processes where HACCP can be particularly beneficial. This process, which involves removing air from a package and sealing it to preserve freshness and extend shelf life, can potentially introduce food safety hazards if not properly managed.

The application of HACCP in vacuum sealing involves identifying potential hazards, determining critical control points where these hazards can be prevented, eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, verification procedures, and record-keeping and documentation procedures.

How we can help...

This all sounds like a lot, so this is where Invacus can help connect you with the right HACCP planner to establish and implement an effective HACCP plan for vacuum sealing.

The savings from implementing a vacuum sealer, food & labor costs, far out way the cost to getting HACCP approval. It's well documented, on average vacuum sealing saves 20% in food costs, 33% in prep labor and 60% in delivery and food distribution costs

Invacus' team of experienced HACCP planning partners can assist in hazard analysis, determining critical control points and setting up monitoring and verification procedures. Our partners can provide as little as remote support, to get approval to onsite training.

With the help of our HACCP partners, businesses can ensure that their vacuum sealing process is not only efficient but also safe, contributing to the overall quality of their products and the satisfaction of their customers.
